Acaye

Mission:
Acaye was founded in 2019 in honor of the fight of Cayetano Massons, a little warrior who, after tirelessly battling leukemia, passed away at just 20 months old. Despite his short life, Cayetano left an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing him.

For six long months, Cayetano was hospitalized at the Virgen del Rocío Hospital in Seville, where he received treatment and medical care while his family lived day by day between hope and uncertainty. Those months were marked by love, determination, and a relentless search for a way to overcome the disease. However, despite all efforts, Cayetano could not survive childhood cancer, and his passing left a deep void among his loved ones—yet also an unbreakable determination to turn his legacy into a force for change.

It was from this pain that our organization was born, with the purpose of giving meaning to his fight and honoring his memory. Since 2019, we have worked tirelessly to raise awareness in society about the importance of childhood cancer research. We know that this disease not only affects the children who suffer from it but also places a tremendous emotional, physical, and financial burden on their families, who face an incredibly challenging journey.

Acaye was created with a clear mission: to support medical research that advances more effective and accessible treatments while offering a glimmer of hope to other families who, like Cayetano’s, face the harsh reality of childhood cancer every day.
Every step we take carries Cayetano’s name as a symbol of strength and love. Because, although his time in this world was brief, our little warrior taught us the true meaning of resilience and courage. It is for him, and for all the brave children who have faced or are facing this disease today, that we continue our
work, committed to a future where no child has to say goodbye because of this illness.
